In preparation for the release of DeGods Season III and the continuation of Yoots2 in July 2023, the studio DeLabs, which is responsible for both projects, has launched a new website.
The mysterious website, described as "performance art" by DeLabs co-founder Rohun Frank Vora, appears to be influenced by Facebook's formative years.
The site's stated mission is to offer a non-conformist replacement for the conventionally written route map method. The bold statement emphasises the website's distinct perspective on project development and communication, "Roadmaps are stupid," which appears on the homepage.
Anticipated Features of DeGods and Yoots NFTs
As a result of the recent website launch by DeLabs, members of the community have begun searching for "Easter eggs," or secret bonuses and extras. This has sparked speculation about what lies ahead and what opportunities this may present to those who have NFTs.
The website's hints and teases suggest that DeLabs will add a new dimension of diversity to the DeGods franchise with the introduction of female DeGod avatars in Season III. Indications of adjustments to the gamified DUST token concept are also present, suggesting that improvements to the user experience and participation within the ecosystem may be on the horizon.
The website also suggests a fresh take on IP rights for NFT holders, one that seeks to expand upon the existing models. This may signal that DeLabs is investigating novel approaches to empowering and providing extra rights to NFT owners, which has the potential to alter the dynamic between creators and collectors radically.
These hints and teases from the website have sparked interest and theories about the exciting advancements and enhancements that DeLabs has in store for NFT holders as they anticipate the debut of DeGods Season III and the yoots2 feature expansion.
When executed, the IP rights might make NFT holders eligible for official brand licencing.
In August of 2022, DeLabs released a whitepaper for Yoots. An unusual NFT intellectual property was proposed in the whitepaper.
The developer of the NFT, however, has stated that the whitepaper is merely "an approximation of the plan."
The whitepaper described an approach similar to copyright registration that may be taken with the Yoots library. Frank answered questions about intellectual property rights in a Twitter Q&A.
He revealed that the group had spent the previous seven months collaborating with the law firm DeLabs to develop a novel IP rights framework.
The Idea Behind DeLab’s New Website
Frank, the founder of DeLabs, spoke about his appreciation for evocative branding and the early days of Facebook during a Q&A session on Twitter Spaces. He wistfully recalled the days when social media was all about staying in touch with friends and family.
Frank continued by explaining why the teaser website was designed to look like a throwback Facebook page. He worried that the internet was becoming less personal as its use grew. Frank thinks that maintaining social connectivity is more important than the chances for producers to make money from the growth of the internet.
Frank hopes to evoke nostalgia and draw attention to the value of genuine connections and community in the digital world through the website's design, which takes a nostalgic approach. This shows his belief that fostering social connectivity is essential in today's vast and commercialised cyberspace.
Since Frank's 2021 debut of DeGod, the NFT project has been building a social network centred on invitation-only events and interactions in the physical world.
This past Thursday, July 29, DeGods NFT holders were invited to a beach party.
In 2022, thanks to this tactic, DeGods surpassed all other NFT projects on the Solana blockchain in terms of market capitalization, inspiring DeLabs to create its follow-up, Yoots.
But in January of 2023, DeGods and Yoots abandoned the Solana blockchain. Yoots moved to Ethereum's layer-2 scaling network, Polygon, while DeGods moved to the mainnet.
A $3 million grant from Polygon Labs was a major factor in Yoots' decision to go with Polygon.
DeGods NFTs have lost 15.2% of their value in the previous 24 hours, with a 24-hour low of 7.469 ETH (about $14,632) in secondary markets.
The floor price of Yoots NFT has dropped to 1.45 ETH (about $2,839), a decline of 15.8 percent in the past 24 hours.
